wednesdays are the best days

Wednesdays! Wednesdays are exciting because I don't have any class, I only have one more day until the weekend (seeing as I don't have class on Friday's either) and I can wake up early and get my day started right. This morning I chose to start running again. I had completely forgotten how hard it is to get back into shape. I ran exactly one mile and it was one mile too many- I was exhausted! I've got a lot of work to do before the Warrior Dash October 6th (Warrior Dash is a 5K Caveman managed to talk me into doing). I got back, showered off and got to spend some time with the Lord. Candace Nelson (who is officially discipling me!) has led us to a book called Experiencing God. I'm only on day two and it is FANTASTIC! By God's grace, I am able to fully realize that being in God's will doesn't mean following some grand plan for the next 3 months or knowing exactly what I'm going to be doing for the next 4 years but instead it is depending on the Lord to lead me each and every day.  God is known throughout scripture for calling His people to do his work and not giving them the details. By not giving us the details we are required to trust him, something you can only do when you have a real relationship with Him. Lessons like this are ones that I have been learning forever but God has so graciously opened my eyes to truly understand them with the help of this book- I look forward to all the other things he plans on teaching me! But I think this is enough blogging for today, have a happy Wednesday everybody!

fresh start

I tried blogging last year, and it didn't go so well. It became a chore. I'm hoping I can use the blogging world this time around to share some of my thoughts and hopes with all my friends and family :)

I decided to revive my blog when one of my professors had us make a website. The website could be about anything we wanted it to be. All the jocks made theirs on football- because no other sport is of any importance this side of the state line- the art majors chose a famous artist and the history majors chose some historical event that I had never heard of. Me? I chose to show people why I am so in love with Casa. But I couldn't be as personal as I wanted on this website. It had a home page, explaining that Casa is an orphanage, the link to Casa's website and some pictures. What it didn't have was my heart for Casa. No amount of pictures can express how badly I want to pick up my little Evelyn or watch movies with Chica. There isn't a website out there that could express how much I want to be in Aura's room, curling her hair (the hair that, at the time, reached her hips) with China and talking about boys.  These are the things I hope I can use this blog for. I hope through this blog you can see how God is continually using the situations and circumstances that come my way to mold me and shape me into the woman he wants to use to further His kingdom.

About Me

My photo
I am an English Education Major who loves strawberry mentos, gerbera daisies and Auburn football. I work at Camp Straight Street and can't get enough of it. I am a sister of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority at Troy University and have found my best friends there. I am falling more in love with Jesus Christ every day and have surrendered my life to Him for His glory.
